- device_load = Σ(quantity × watts). recommended_budget = device_load × (1 + reserve).
- Budget PASS when recommended_budget ≤ available switch/injector budget.
- Optional per-port limit FAIL if any device watts exceed that port cap.
Limitations
- Nameplate consumption is not automatically worst-case. IR, heaters, PTZ, and startup can draw more.
- Total PoE budget and individual port power limit are different constraints.
